The Global Product & RD team is building up core TikTok products to ensure TikTok continues a healthy growth, deliver the best product experience to all of our users, build the most attractive features to help users enjoy their time on TikTok, earn trust in privacy protection, and more.
The Global Product team is growing exponentially. The business lines are ranging from Monetization Technology, Data, Machine Learning, System, Infrastructure, AR Effects, Security Technology and more.

The product team is focused on understanding TikTok's users, identifying opportunity areas, prioritizing the problems we must solve, and delivering innovative user-centric solutions. We seek to continuously raise the bar on how we build and enhance products to drive new and existing user growth, engagement and retention.
Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced product manager to work with our AR tools, engineering and product design teams to build a robust set of AR creation tools for a global community of creative technologists, designers and developers to create AR effects and experiences on TikTok.
This high-speed role requires complex problem-solving across time zones and a tireless entrepreneurial spirit. You'll be shaping an important new platform for TikTok through initiating opportunities and finding solutions with minimal guidance. We are largely unencumbered by red tape, but building a robust foundation is a critical step toward scaling the platform and empowering its rapid yet sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy, roadmap and execution of key features for Effect House, our AR desktop creation tool, including either creation workflow/UXUI or creator resources (e.g., templates, asset library, onboarding guide, creator analytics)
- Lead a highly cross-functional team across engineering, design, QA, operations, marketing, user support and other areas to prioritize, align and deliver on clear product goals and success metrics
- Drive product ideation and requirements definition, collaborate with engineering to drive technical development and collaborate with go-to-market teams to drive launch of new products
- Partner closely with interactive engineering to develop products and resources to educate and upskill the community of TikTok AR designers and developers
- Integrate data, user feedback, market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
- Educate and influence both internal leadership and external stakeholders on Effect House's AR tools strategy
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of product management experience, either:
- Building creation tools, AR/VR tools, game engines or designer/developer desktop tools, and familiarity with tool editor design/workflow/frameworks, or
- Strong understanding of content ecosystems & trends in AR effects and experience producing creator education & resources (e.g., templates, learning guides, community forums, creator analytics)
- Self-starter who can manage large cross-functional stakeholders in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results with limited supervision
- Data-driven and comfortable leveraging data to prioritize product decisions
- Strong ability to both grasp the bigger picture as well as dive into the details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- BS/BA in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on a global product with stakeholders across different time zones
- Passionate about TikTok and the latest AR technologies
- Familiarity with Mandarin is a plus
