The Product Manager, Roof Components, is responsible for managing the Roof System Components (RSC) product offerings, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and working closely with sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, engineering & operations to achieve revenue and profitability goals. The Product Specialist’s job also includes ensuring the RSC product offerings support the company’s overall strategy and goals. Acts as both a Product Manager and Project Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop product pricing and positioning strategies by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs and forecasting
Manage P&L of each RSC product, implement price changes as appropriate to manage P&L offering
Manage & execute launch of new RSC products
Work with Marketing to create & maintain marketing collateral for all RSC products including price lists
Responsible for the RSC product life cycle and roadmap from product definition and strategy to product launch to phasing out old or obsolete products
Communicate quarterly with finance on RSC Scrap Reserve level
Communicate price and product updates to Management, Sales team, other internal teams, vendors and customers
Manage RSC sample offerings and sample requests as needed
Obtain approvals for price changes & legal documents utilizing DocuSign
Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding of RSC products
Know the competition for each product line in each regional market
Determine marketing & product requirements to optimize revenue & profitability of the RSC business
Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
Work with supply chain, operations and external suppliers to maintain consistent supply of high quality RSC products
Work with Supply Chain to ensure all price increases from Vendors are processed and determine strategy on Westlake RSC pricing to maintain or increase margins
Develop product introduction presentations and roadmap updates
Train new employees on RSC for the onboarding process - Maintain all presentation materials are kept up to date.
Submits monthly reports to management on RSC sales and specific product or pricing changes
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
Job Related Qualifications/Experience:
5+ years experience in Product Management
Experience in a job in the building products or construction markets a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nimble with technology
Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
Excellent teamwork skills
Ability to influence cross-functional teams
High level of knowledge with MS office programs
Experience with SAP preferable
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, or related field
Project Management Certification a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $103,000 to $134,000 . This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
