Job Summary
A position is available at the Research Assistant Professor level in the lab of Dr. Christopher B. Rodell at Drexel University's School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems. The projects to be advanced will relate to therapeutic manipulation of inflammation to guide the cell-, tissue-, and systems-level response to injury. This is accomplished by the design of polymeric biomaterials that can be delivered to the injury or disease site.
The Rodell lab strives to build a diverse and interdisciplinary research team - applicants from diverse backgrounds and disparate disciplines that may provide a unique perspective to biomaterials and immune engineering research are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions
* Conduct independent, mentored, and collaborative research as a core member of the lab.* Project management, including but not limited to data analysis, publication, and related reporting of ongoing projects.* Project planning, including mentored or independent funding proposal development.* Mentorship of junior lab members, including those funded by successful independent proposals.* Aide in lab administration.* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* PhD, Biomedical Engineering, Biosciences, or a related field.* A minimum of 2 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Grant writing and project management experience, (desired)* Demonstration of prior successful funding proposals, (desired)

* Typically sitting at a desk/table* Typically standing, walking* Lifting demands up to 25lbs.

This is a full-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The salary offered is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
