Construction Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer specializing in commercial construction, you will be an integral part of our project management team, ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities, maintain project schedules, and uphold our commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including milestone tracking and critical path analysis, to ensure timely completion of commercial construction projects.
Contract Administration: Review project contracts, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations. Assist in the preparation of subcontracts and purchase orders as needed.
Document Control: Manage project documentation, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes, to ensure accurate and timely communication among project team members.
Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality control procedures and inspections to ensure that workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards.
Cost Management: Assist in tracking project costs, monitoring budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction.
Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety on the job site by enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any safety concerns in a timely manner.
Progress Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, and senior management, to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Closeout Procedures: Assist in project closeout activities, including punch list management, final inspections, and documentation turnover, to ensure a smooth transition to the client upon project completion.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a project engineer in the commercial construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk BIM 360, Primavera P6).
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
