Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Opportunity Overview:

The Intermediate ICU RN provides clinical care and uses coordination skills for every patient served. This includes an understanding of the expected patients served in the unit'(s). Nursing care is delivered using the Eskenazi Health Model of Care-Synergy, the ability to coordinate with the patient and family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to meet patient care needs. Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach, and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health values.

In addition to new employee and clinical core orientation, we ensure team members are provided a departmental orientation that is flexible based on YOUR needs. Better support for nurses means better care for patients. That is why Eskenazi Health is not only here for the community and our patients, we're here for our nurses too.

What You Can Expect:

Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center. Due to our high acuity, team members in this role can anticipate caring for and monitoring high acuity patients whose acuity is a blend between progressive care and ICU in a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio. You will also encounter patients with a wide variety of backgrounds, disease processes, and interventions due to being a bridge between our Acuity Adaptable unit and our MICU/SICU.

In this role, candidates will learn and perform the following: Q1 hour vital signs/neuro checks, elective cardioversion, stable ventilator management, and arterial BP monitoring. You will also be exposed and expected to titrate various stable drips such as: low dose vasopressors (dopamine and levophed), intropes (milrinone and dobutamine), antihypertensives (Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine), Dexmed, Ativan, Narcan, , ketamine, lidocaine, Adenosine, Esmolol, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, epidurals, insulin and more.

Ratio: 1:3 in IICU

Beds: 36 Beds

Am I Qualified:

Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse

RN degree from a nationally accredited college or university

Current BLS certification; other certifications may be required in specific units to practice

New Upcoming Nursing Graduates

Scheduling:

We currently have openings for full-time . Our greatest needs are currently nights and weekends! We have a six-week self-schedule model that allows you to give your preference and it is modified as needed per unit needs. Weekends are adjusted per schedule needs, but roughly every third weekend.

What We Offer:

We strive to create a flexible and realistic work-life balance by providing the following:

Opportunities to take high acuity patients to further your knowledge and grow so that you have the option to transfer to other areas in the future if desired. (MICU, SICU, PACU, etc).

Competitive compensation

STUNNING benefits (retirement matching, tuition reimbursement, PTO, medical, dental, vision, and more!)
