Job Summary:

As a Commercial Data Steward, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing data that supports business operations, from sales and marketing to billing and client services. Reporting to the Commercial Data Strategy Lead, you will ensure that our internal data resources are accurately maintained, compliant, and effectively integrated across our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and uphold data governance frameworks and policies to manage internal commercial data assets effectively.

Collaborate with IT and various business units to align data management strategies with organizational objectives and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Monitor and maintain the quality of internal data, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity across all systems.

Manage metadata for internal datasets, ensuring clear documentation and understanding of data sources, uses, and interdependencies.

Facilitate controlled access to data according to organizational needs and compliance standards.

Support departments in utilizing data effectively for strategic decision-making, including marketing, sales, finance, and client relationship management.

Lead initiatives for data cleaning, migration, and integration to enhance system interoperability and efficiency.

Develop and conduct training programs to promote data governance best practices among staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in data management or governance, ideally within the financial services or related sector.

In-depth understanding of CRM systems, especially Salesforce, and other business intelligence tools.

Proficient in data quality tools, SQL, and database management.

Demonstrated experience in data governance, including setting policies and standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex data integration projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across departmental lines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification in Data Management useful but not required.

Experience with financial data systems and their specific compliance requirements.

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
