Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill a full-time Research Scientist position in Dr. Kimberly Stegmaier's laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We are a pediatric oncology research laboratory that uses a variety of genomic, biochemical, molecular, and cell biology approaches to identify new therapeutic targets and mechanisms of disease, develop preclinical models of disease, and test novel therapeutics both in vitro and in vivo in pediatric cancers. The successful candidate will be a team player capable of handling multiple projects and adaptable to a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities
The research scientist will be responsible for conducting experiments to advance the research program in the lab. As part of this work, they will be responsible for the following:
* Developing CRISPR-compatible patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models of leukemia* Testing novel therapeutics in cell line and mouse models of leukemia and solid tumors* Validating candidate therapeutic targets with CRISPR and targeted protein degradation strategies* Conducting studies to understand the mechanism of action of novel targets/drugs* Generating and interpreting genomic data: RNA sequencing, ChIP sequencing, ATAC sequencing, etc.* Basic data analysis* Deploying skills needed for cancer biology research: molecular biology/cloning, flow cytometry, Isolating/handling of DNA,RNA, and protein, PCR, western blotting, and immunoprecipitation experiments
The research scientist should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail in completing tasks and a strong work ethic are essential. This includes the willingness to critically read and keep up to date on the latest scientific literature, logically troubleshoot problems, offer both intellectual and technical input during collaborative meetings, and assist in the preparation of presentations, grants, and manuscripts. They should have flexibility in their schedule to work on some evenings and weekends as needed to meet project goals. We seek candidates who have at least 2 years of availability.
Qualifications
* A PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field is required* At least 3 years of laboratory experience post terminal degree* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities with deadlines* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with evolving priorities* Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize research findings for presentation in both oral and written formats* Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
