In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The Assistive Music Technology Lab is hiring someone to help visually impaired students with visual materials during July 6- Aug 9 2024.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Convert print material into accessible electronic materials by typing, scanning, and proof reading
Help with making charts
Read, scribe, record print materials
Look up information in print materials
Play and record musical examples
Identify or describe visual information or environmental factors
Provide assistance with technology both hardware and software related to visual content
Assist in maintaining the lab
The position requires the following skills:
Excellent notation skills for making charts on Sibelius
Knowledge of Berklee core music curriculum content (tonal harmony, jazz harmony, arranging)
Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and writing)
Computer skills
Basic piano/guitar skills
Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.
Interpersonal Skills: Focuses on solving conflict; Manages difficult or emotional situations; Maintains confidentiality; Remains open to others ideas and tries new things.

We will provide training on assistive technologies and teach the new hire how to create accessible materials for visually impaired students.
