Our client, a downtown Chicago-based real estate firm, is in search of an Accounting Associate to join their team! In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Financial Close team to compile recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual journals, ensuring they align seamlessly with the Company's period-end close. Additionally, you'll dive into ad-hoc projects as needed, contributing your expertise to various activities throughout the month to ensure precise and timely transaction recording.
Responsibilities:
Execute weekly, monthly, and period-end closing duties, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
Assist in the coordination and support of third-party auditors.
Cultivate collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Treasury, and Internal Audit.
Uphold internal controls, focusing on continuous improvement and accountability.
Play a key role in preparing and disseminating internal and external financial statements and reports, with a keen emphasis on quality, reliability, and accuracy.
Tackle and resolve accounting issues, including the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
Analyze and interpret operational and financial data to evaluate performance.
Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
1-3 years of accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
