Job Summary
The Warehouse Area Lead is responsible for 24 hour supervisory coverage of a particular area of the Memphis Warehouse Team. This role will serve as both a people leader and process leader to ensure all team members have the resources needed to operate in a safe and efficient work environment. The Warehouse Area Lead will also play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing process improvements alongside the Memphis leadership team as City continues to grow.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise FLL, Warehouse Coordinators, and hourly associates
Front line discipline and documentation
Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training of salaried and hourly employees
Assist with hourly personnel timekeeping
Supervise training for all associates
Assist managers and supervisors with tracking hourly performance
Supervise implementation of all warehouse S.O.P.’s and policies
Track and record all daily forklift inspection reports
Supervise the maintenance of all on board forklift scanners, radios, cradles, and WMS equipment
Supervise shipments within D.M.V. regulations
Employee relations coordinator between shipping coordinators and hourly employees
Enforce policies to stay within internal, federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for compliance of GMP, fire codes, insurance guidelines, sanitation, pest control, safety, O.S.H.A., F.D.A. and T.T.B.
Assist with upgrade and implementation of systems improvements
Ensure all packaging material for the daily production is accurate, available, and accessible
File and track all defective packaging material
Supervise the daily inventory, storage and movement of all packaging materials, ingredients, and finished product
Direct contact for CBC accounting, customer service, and quality departments for inventory and audits of packaging, ingredients, and full goods
Responsible for finished product, packaging material and ingredient stock rotation, storage, and hold reporting
Monitor and control daily packaging adjustments
Responsible for purchasing of pallets/slip sheets/pallet tags/shipping materials
Coordinate and ensure the flow of all palletizers, transfers, rails, shipments, inbound supplies, and trucks
Assist front line hourly associates with scanning issues and corrections as needed
Supervise recording, grounds and trailer reporting for a trailer drop lot
Answer phones and radios
Open palletizers in WMS to match current production
Generate pallet tags
Make copies of bills of lading, filing.
Enter P.O./Returned Material Authorizations finished product/shipping material receipts
Assign load patterns
Must know process to check in all inbound/outbound loads and drivers and be able to fill in for Warehouse Coordinators when needed
Support the Packaging, Customer Service, Batching, Brewing, Accounting, Purchasing and Quality Assurance departments
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, and/or material handling environment
Experience successfully supervising and mentoring a large team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced computer skills preferred
WMS experience, preferred
Highly organized and self motivated
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, accurate decisions
