Aquilas Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fitness and wellbeing programming and operations on a corporate client account. The Fitness Manager works together with on-site staff to create and implement strategic plans for a successful group fitness program, programming, initiatives, and strategies that support Aquila’s values and mission and ensure all contract deliverables are met. Areas of focus include: customer service, fitness and wellbeing programming, talent management, performance management, strategic thinking, leading and empowering others.
The pay range for this position is $55,000-63,000 annually depending on experience, plus personal training commissions. The work week is Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. Candidates must be able to work 8 hour days Monday-Friday with availability to work a 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. schedule. There is no weekend work.

As a Fitness Manager , your responsibilities will include:
Directs and coordinates health and fitness center operations utilizing knowledge of established policies, procedures and practices for optimum efficiency and economy.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities for approximately 2-4 full time direct reports plus group fitness instructors, in accordance with Aquila policies, procedures and applicable laws including: recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of staff. Plans, assigns and directs work assignments to ensure staff remain challenged and productivity is maximized; provides training and development opportunities to promote and encourage career growth.
Submits employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and Aquila policies.
Evaluates current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing health and fitness center goals and objectives.
Identifies and addresses operational challenges; develops and implements alternative methods for work improvement.
Reviews health and fitness centers audit reports to ensure operational efficiency and quality control.
Develops relationships with members, clients and key contract clients to promote goodwill and generate new business.
Interprets and disseminates policy to staff and regularly assesses employee performance.
Provides emergency relief coverage for group fitness class instruction and/or personal training in the absence of staff.
Conduct personal training sessions and group fitness classes as needed for fitness program
Implements ACSM programming guidelines, identifying high-risk clients and special populations; conduct fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions.
Implements and designs wellness and fitness programs, worksite health promotion programs (where applicable), health fairs and internal and external programming promotional activities including seminars, member incentive and retention programs.
Responsible for monthly operational/financial reports and analyzing trends relating to facility and program usage.

Qualifications:
B.S or M.S. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or closely related fitness field
An active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, NCCPT, NCSF, IFPA or AFAA)
Active CPR certification/First Aid/AED
Minimum 1-2 years management experience
Minimum 3 years experience supervising adults during exercise
Experience in a corporate fitness setting preferred
Skills required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service oriented.
Computer literate: Microsoft Products, E-mail, Internet.
Modern principles and practices of organization, administration, budget, and management.
Excellent technical skills in testing and exercise prescription.
Team player; ability to lead group fitness classes; acts with a sense of urgency.
Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data from wider variety of sources and taking appropriate action.
Personnel management
