Main Purpose of Job
The MSP Aviation Support Supervisor I is engaged in the logistics, support, and technical inspection associated with the aircraft maintenance workflow. Employees in this classification are responsible for managing the daily responsibilities of MSP Aviation Maintenance Support personnel, auditing inventory levels to ensure accuracy, receiving, distributing, and controlling the inventory required for all aircraft. Work performed directly affects the operational availability of all aircraft required to fulfill the missions of\rthe Department. Supervises subordinate employees that have major responsibilities for aircraft\rrecordsand aircraft material. Serves as an aircraft technical inspector under the Department of State Police Aviation Command Repair Station License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Ensures all aircraft are maintained and serviced in accordance with timelines and conditions established by manufacturer specifications and regulations of the FAA. Performs other duties as required by the Director of Maintenance or the Commander of the Aviation Command.\r
POSITION DUTIES
Schedules and prioritizes daily aircraft maintenance work flow and develops daily\roperational aircraft schedules. Projects weekly and monthly maintenance requirements of\rall Command aircraft. Allocates manpower to daily maintenance assignments.\rCoordinates unscheduled aircraft maintenance work flow. Integrates programmed aircraft\rmodifications and upgrades into the scheduled maintenance work flow. Ensures the timely\rand efficient flow of aircraft maintenance to fulfill the daily operational requirements of\rthe Command’s rotary wing and fixed wing mission ready aircraft.\r
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\rExperience:Ten years of aircraft maintenance experience.\rNote:Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Aviation Machinist Mate classifications or Aviation, Maintenance Management, or Aircraft Maintenance specialty codes in the Aviation Maintenance field of work on a year-for-year basisfor the required experience.\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification must possess a valid and current FAA Airframeand Powerplant Mechanic Certificate.\r2. Employees in this classification must possess a current FAA Inspection Authorization.\r3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle, therefore, will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicants for positions with the Department of Maryland State Police will be subject to a complete criminal\rbackground investigation and a polygraph examination before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal\rconviction may be grounds for rejection of the applicant.\r\r\r2. Some positions in this classification are assigned duties which will require the individual to be examined by a\rphysician. After an offer of employment, applicants for such positions will be given a medical examination to\rcertify the ability to perform the essential job functions.\r\r\r3. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in on a 24 hour basis, and therefore, will be required to\rprovide the employer with a phone number where they can be reached. Working weekends and holidays is\rrequired. Employee also subject to emergency call out. This is an Emergency Essential Employee.\r\r\r4. Employees in this classification must have access to an automobile for use on official business in the event a\rState vehicle cannot be provided. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of a privately owned vehicle.\r\r\r5. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland\rRegulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.\r
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process for this recruitment will involve a review of each application. Applicants who meet the\rminimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list in the BEST, BETTER or QUALIFIED category. The\rlist will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill the vacancy. The list will be valid for one\ryear.\r
EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of\rthe position.
