Position Overview for the IT Project Manager: Project Management Leadership : Direct cross-functional teams to drive regional, operating unit, or system initiatives, ensuring alignment across Sutter Health. Oversee three or more concurrent projects, managing scope, budget, and impact, and ensure integration with other initiatives using PMI standards.
Work Plan Development and Implementation : Develop detailed project work plans, establish communication and risk management plans, and redesign workflow processes. Monitor project progress, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and provide troubleshooting to remove barriers.
Team Oversight and Facilitation : Assign tasks to project team members, including junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators. Facilitate effective group meetings, ensuring alignment and coordination among diverse stakeholders. Provide feedback and coaching to ensure project success.
Reporting and Documentation : Utilize project management tools to track and monitor progress. Compile project status updates into standardized reports, adapting communication approaches to meet the needs of varied audiences.
Required Skills for the IT Project Manager: Extensive Experience : Minimum of 8 years of recent relevant experience in project management, with a strong background in managing complex projects. Direct experience supporting Dorothy Comfort and/or Huron Research projects is highly preferred.
Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health administration, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
Project Management Expertise : Thorough knowledge of project management processes, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, financial management, and documentation. Proficiency in Lean management principles is essential.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills : Strong ability to work with diverse teams, providing clear and tactful communication with management, vendors, peers, and staff. Capable of training, coaching, and motivating project staff to maintain excellence in project outcomes.
