Transom Capital Group (“TCG”) is a leading Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on operationally-intensive investments in the middle-market. The TCG team has a proven track record of investing in, restructuring, and growing businesses. Key to this success is its unique approach of heavy operational involvement and support provided to each portfolio company.
TCG is seeking a Vice President of Portfolio Company Finance (“VP”). The VP reports to the Portfolio Company Operations Group and is principally responsible for monitoring day-to-day finance activities across multiple portfolio companies, including financial reporting, cashflow management, and compliance. Additionally, the successful candidate will partner with relevant stakeholders in the design and execution of strategic initiatives that generate long-term enterprise value.
Responsibilities:
Serve as TCG’s representative to the portfolio company on day-to-day finance-related activities and act as an effective liaison between portfolio company executive management and the Board of Directors
Monitor financial performance, including KPIs, working capital, capital expenditures, debt covenants, taxes, budget, as well as general finance and accounting operations at each portfolio company
Partner with CFO at portfolio company to implement best-in-class cashflow management, accounting controls, and treasury operations
Participate in weekly cash flow review meetings and manage rolling 13-week cash flow forecast
Drive standardization in accounting, reporting, and financial operations and deliver ‘best-in-class’ tools, techniques, and templates to portfolio companies
Evaluate portfolio company's financial systems and participate in implementation or upgrade of systems
Participate in annual portfolio company audits and tax reporting and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Effectively communicate to the audit committee on material findings/issues.
Drive timely financial reporting from portfolio companies, including BOD presentations
Provide regular MD&A on portfolio company performance to support TCG’s internal and external stakeholder reporting requirements
Requirements:
BA in Accounting or Finance MBA preferred
CPA license
10+ years progressive finance and accounting experience, recently leading the finance function of an organization private equityor PE-backed company experience preferred
Public accounting experience
Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills
Process-driven individual with a track record of implementing process improvements
Exceptional Excel-based financial modeling and budgeting skills
Strong capability with MS Office suite, Powerpoint specifically
Experience with and working knowledge of SAAS-based accounting / ERP solutions, e.g., NetSuite
