Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure track position for Assistant Professor for Business and Social Sciences Librarian.
The Assistant Professor and Business and Social Sciences Librarian Is responsible for evaluating and recommending resources. This position will also assist with planning and implementing library services that will address the information needs of the students and faculty in the Colleges of Business and Industry and Social and Behavioral Sciences, as well as the university community at large.
This nine-month, tenure track position has an annual salary of $43,500.00 with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024.
Candidates must possess a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
The preferred candidate will possess an advanced degree or other post-graduate / continuing education in subject specialty or closely related fields (not a requirement for consideration). Previous experience in reference service and patron instruction is also preferred.
Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume or CV and unofficial transcripts to be considered for the position. Official transcripts will be required upon hire.
