General Description / Primary Purpose
The Instructional Design Project Manager of the University of North Florida’s Center for Instruction and Research Technology department is a skilled and experienced Project Manager. This position involves managing various aspects of projects, from planning and design to implementation and review, ensuring they meet the set timelines and quality standards.
Job Function
Coordinate and manage online course development projects for distance learning delivery at the University of North Florida’s Center for Instruction and Research Technology.
Work under the guidance of the Assistant Director to ensure timely and effective completion of projects using the project management tool ClickUp.
Facilitate collaboration and communication between faculty and instructional designers, assisting in the translation of traditional courses to online formats.
Schedule and organize course and program meetings with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project objectives.
Play a key role in planning, tracking, and reporting project progress, milestones, and outcomes. Articulate Standard Operating Procedures for internal processes.
Offer support in the application of best practices in online course design, leveraging knowledge in instructional design and adult learning theories.
Gather feedback from stakeholders to continually update and improve processes.
Facilitate the quality assurance process of online courses using the university’s established rubrics.
Act as a liaison for the integration of instructional technology, including the Canvas Learning Management System and other web-based tools.
Undertake administrative and operational responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications
This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

Departmental Requirements
Demonstrated experience in managing the development of distance learning courses and digital instructional materials. This includes: overseeing projects from conception to completion and ensuring alignment with curricular goals.
Theoretical and applied knowledge of learning theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge to develop effective online courses.
Experience in implementing a range of Web 2.0 technologies, learning management systems (Canvas) and project management tools such as ClickUp.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
The Project Manager must be able to effectively liaise between faculty, instructional designers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and productive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
A strong customer service orientation, with the ability to address and support the needs of faculty and team members in the development of distance learning courses.
While not required, preferred qualifications include: experience in developing distance learning courses for higher education institutions and Quality Matters certification and/or experience.
