GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Director must be an exemplary mobility mentor and manager. The successful candidate will manage five mobility mentors and ensure the thoughtful implementation of the Career Family Opportunity (CFO) Program, EMPath’s flagship five-year self-sufficiency program. Each year, 45 to 50 participants enroll in the CFO Program to lift themselves and their families beyond the Area Median Income for Greater Boston. In addition to working with staff and participants, the Director stays connected to CFO alumni. This connection ensures that continuous improvements in the CFO Program are made and evaluated. The Director is responsible for engaging and cultivating the staff, providing structured opportunities for participants to develop stronger employment and certification networks, and discerning the efficacy of program elements. The Director will provide Mobility Mentoring services to either a small caseload of current CFOs and/or Alumni.

The Director will engage in program design and improvement by reflecting on data collected throughout this effort. They will oversee budget creation and management, hiring, training, and adherence to evaluation reporting. The position requires excellent leadership and sound judgment, strategic thinking, and effective communication with diverse audiences. The director must be able to share hard truths to both staff and participants. Expectations are high and diligence is required.

The Director is also responsible for the oversight of the Alumni Program and maintaining engagement and communication with program graduates to advance EMPath’s strategic goals.

SUPERVISOR: COO (Chief Operation Officer)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB:

SUPERVISORY: Provides direct supervisory oversight to the Program Coordinator who oversees the team of Mobility Mentors. Oversight responsibilities include establishing program operations including caseloads and outcomes expectations for staff; overseeing programs’ compliance with data entry requirements; monitoring program outcomes, and evolving program implementation strategies to improve client and program outcomes. Works closely with all staff to strengthen Mobility Mentoring skills.

OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT : Leads Mobility Mentors in responding to inquiries about the program, outreach, recruitment, orientation, and assessment in accordance with organizational and program guidelines and standards. Leads collaboration with staff, and community-based organizations to promote the visibility of the program; ensure ongoing referrals and effective utilization of the program and meet enrollment and outcome goals. Oversees the online application system, responding to program applicants, and managing the waitlist.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT : The Director develops and manages the annual program budget. They will cooperate with the finance department to follow all fiscal procedures and will ensure the highest level of fiduciary oversight. Supports Program Coordinator to process and manage participant incentives.

TRAINING: Develops training plan; works with staff to identify learning needs (in areas such as financial literacy, career development, communication skills, advocacy, etc.) and to curate relevant resources. With Program Coordinator, monitors staff compliance with training requirements and the creation of professional development plans for each team member.

SERVICE DELIVERY: Responsible for all services and related activities to support daily operations in accordance with program standards, contractual obligations, and evaluation protocol. These responsibilities include but are not limited to staff coverage, liaison, and referrals with other service organizations, participant recordkeeping, and reporting on participant and program issues. Manages staff to ensure participant engagement in program activities; plans and implements service delivery activities in collaboration with participants, staff, and partners.

GROUP FACILITATION : Facilitates meetings and trains and supports Mobility Mentors in providing facilitation of group meetings. Works with participants to identify learning needs (in areas such as financial literacy, career development, communication skills, effective communication, advocacy, etc.), and to develop relevant workshops. Coordinates with internal and external workshop facilitators.

DATA MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING : Oversees Mobility Mentors who maintain participant information in keeping with WISP and confidentiality guidelines; evaluates and collects data to ensure timely reporting for internal and external use. Reviews and verifies all data and outcomes reporting. Develops and evolves a standard set of outcomes for all long-term programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Master's degree in a related field; and at least 7 years of full-time professional experience in human service programs with 3 years of supervisory and program leadership experience

Compensation: $80,000 to $805,000 annually; s tarting salaries are determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.
