JOB SUMMARY:
Outward Hound is a leading company within the Pet toys/supplies/treats industry. The National Account Manager is responsible for driving sales initiatives and revenue growth while working cross-functionally to ensure proper planning and execution. The customers this role will be responsible for may vary depending on experience-candidates should have experience working with national retailers, distributors. This person should be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position reports to the VP of Sales. T he ideal candidate will reside in the Denver-metro area.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Execution of a sales plan to meet company’s strategic business goals, establishing a multi-year vision for this position and channels assigned with a focus on customer satisfaction and corporate P&L.
Creating, influencing, and maintaining relationships with buying teams, inclusive of top decision-makers.
Communicating consistently and efficiently with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, Product Development and Marketing.
Developing and managing a trade marketing plan and its associated budget.
Conducting product and category analyses, utilizing POS data.
Maintaining monthly account forecasts and creating annual budgets.
Conducting competitor analyses, monitoring industry trends, understanding consumer preferences and behaviors and leveraging insights for current and future business planning.
Plan and attend a select number of trade show and customer events.
Manage brokers and sales reps to optimize sales and provide proper coverage to assigned areas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER:
Strong communication and presentation skills with proven ability to present to buyers, senior management, and internal teams.
Demonstrated success in growing new and existing channels of business.
Strategic thinker with advanced analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and manage across different functional areas.
Ability to execute retail initiatives, promotions, and in-store events.
Proven track record of leading and driving growth at a diverse group of channels and customers.
Advanced Excel skills
JOB SPECIFICATIONS :
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in retail/consumer goods sales account management
Progressive sales experience working at CPG companies desired.
Omnichannel sales experience preferred.
Broker management experience preferred.
Expertise using MS Office (Outlook, Excel) required, Nielsen/IRI experience preferred.
Pet experience a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field is required.
