Summary:

The Commercial Business Risk Officer, Sr. reports to the Commercial Segment Risk Officer, Sr. and will have responsibility for driving and overseeing key risk activit ies for the assigned Commercial Business Unit (s) ( Corporate, Specialty & Government Banking; Commercial Real Estate; Midde Market Banking ; Commercial Administration Services; Asset Finance; Capital Markets , etc. ). Key risk activities includ e identifying , monitoring, measuring, mitigating, and reporting on the Business Unit’s risk and control environment.

The Commercial Business Risk Officer, Sr. will be part of the Commercial Segment Risk Leadership team and will play a lead role in establishing the risk management strategy , execution model, and culture for the organization. Additionally, t his position will support and manage a team of Segment Risk Specialists and Managers through direct or indirect reporting lines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Drives proactive risk culture and disciplined execution of strong risk management practices in alignment with Huntington’s overall risk culture and risk appetite

+ Understands key business processes, products, and services; analyzes risk impact by pillar (Credit, Operational, Strategic, Reputation, Compliance, Market, and Liquidity); and advises strategies to effectively manage and monitor associated risk

+ Builds relationships and effective collaboration with key stakeholders (business leaders, business process owners, risk pillar owners, 2 line of defense partners, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Credit Review, Technology, Segment Risk peers, subject matter experts, etc.) to drive implementation of risk management program and responsibilities

+ Builds relationships and effective collaboration with key stakeholders (business leaders, business process owners, risk pillar owners, Corporate Risk partners, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Credit Review, Technology, Segment Risk peers, subject matter experts, etc.) to drive implementation of risk management program and responsibilities Ensures the Business Unit’s processes are documented with process maps or other methods ; that the control environment is appropriately designed; and that controls are periodically monitored and measured

+ Identifies and assess es impact of emerging and top risks , including internal and external factor s, and advises on the development of monitoring approaches and mitigation strategies

+ Completes risk and control self-assessment s th rough qualitative and quantitative analys es of control effectiveness, residual risk, metrics, findings, risk acceptances , audit/examination results, and top and emerging risks by risk pillar in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management guidance

+ Maintains detailed understanding of issues impacting the Business Unit and drives disciplined management of findings and action plans through clear documentation of issue, appropriate risk impact, root cause analysis, development of action plan that remediate s root cause, evidence that resolution is sustainab le and can be validated , due dates are met , and appropriate Archer (Huntington’s GRC tool) documentation

+ Supports and d rives completion of Huntington’s Risk T ransformation initiatives

+ Leads or actively participates in governance forums including working groups, committees, enterprise programs, etc. to communicate segment risk points of view and to obtain perspective of corporate-wide goals and objectives

+ Supports Business Unit(s) to prepare for, manage, and respond to Audit, Credit Review, Compliance and Regulatory reviews/ examinations

+ Develop s and deliver s risk information in presentations tailored to audience s including executive leadership, regulators, committees, etc.

+ Maintain s d etailed knowledge of Enterprise-wide policies, programs, frameworks that impact the Business Unit(s) , and drives /oversees disciplined implementation of requirements (e.g., Risk Governance Framework, Issues Management Policy and Procedures, Control and Testing Framework, Change Management Program, Credit Policies, etc.)

+ Assesses the impact of new or changed products, services, technology/systems, processes, or other initiatives to ensure alignment with Huntington’s risk appetite and governance processes such as the Products and Service Risk Assessment process

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree required in Business or related field

+ 10 + years of progressively responsible experience in Risk Management or related field with focus on risk management frameworks, risk assessment, or ability to apply risk management principles

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience applying risk management principles

+ Proficient in Archer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)

+ Knowledge of Commercial Banking products and processes

+ Acts with a sense of urgency and effectively adjusts based on priorities

+ Able to navigate differing points of view and perspectives with professionalism and growth mindset

+ C lear, concise and organized communication appropriate for the intended audience
