Under the direction of the EVS Manager, EVS Technician is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the facility and related areas. Quality customer service will be provided to the residents at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Essential Job Functions: Clean building floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, and vacuuming them.

Gather and empty trash.

Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Clean windows, glass partitions.

Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.

Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Respond to all off the hook and unlock requests from the front desk.

Move furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks as needed.

Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facility areas for events such as banquets and meetings.

Set-up audio visual equipment for events.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Years/Months of Experience:

Six months or more related experience

Knowledge / Mental / Skill Requirements: Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good customer service skills.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to work effectively with at team.

Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.

Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn.

General knowledge of housekeeping skills.

General knowledge of how to operate any equipment needed to perform tasks.

Knowledge of vacuum cleaner operation and maintenance.

Possess skills in organization, appearance and demeanor.

Work alone and as a member of a team, able to plan own work activities and work with a minimum amount of supervision.

Knowledge of Hazard of Communication program.

Ability to operate maintenance and power equipment; good skill in the use of hand and power tools.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents or other staff of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed with written and oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Able to use equipment required for tasks; understands chemical interactions.

Skills in organization, appearance and demeanor.

Ability to make quick, clear judgments based on facts and communicates issues with sensitivity to different communication styles and personalities.

Able to work overtime, weekends, holidays as needed.

Normally works 8 hours per shift, however, this may be subject to change for business or care purposes. Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods.

Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure involving differences in techniques, procedures, physical demands, or work situations.

List tools, equipment, etc used for the position:

General cleaning equipment: vacuum cleaner, dusting equipment, cleaning chemicals and brushes, waxing/polishing machine.

Physical Activities of the Position: Normally works 8 hour shift per day, however, this may be subject to change for business or care purposes.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Pull, carry 10 lbs and push 40 lbs.

Requires two-hand dexterity

Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs.

Ability to lift objects while vacuuming underneath

Continuously bending and stooping, standing, walking
