Job Description
David Weekley Homes has opportunities for entry-level Estimators to join our Austin Purchasing team. This position is responsible for accurately measuring and estimating the materials used to build each home. You’ll enjoy a fun, professional atmosphere with high standards, have an opportunity to enhance your skills and learn new skills, plus receive continual feedback and recognition for a job well done
Job Responsibilities include:
+ Develop and maintain accurate plan estimates, analyze reports related to estimating activities, and track status of assigned projects.
+ Manage all aspects of the bid coordination process, including blueprint validation, bid request preparation, research and cost comparison reporting.
+ Maintain master job cost files and convert material lists and cost estimates to database.
+ Coordinate the flow of information among suppliers, purchasing staff, builders & DWH computer systems.
+ Complete quantity takeoffs for new plans, elevations, custom options and plan changes.
+ Generate price pro-forma and other financial reporting for all communities.
+ Provide generalized service support for internal customers.
Job Requirements
+ College graduate with a degree in Business, Finance, Construction, or related field
+ Solid mathematical and analytical skills
+ Strong organization and communication skills
+ Ability to multi-task and excel in a structured environment
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel preferred
+ Experience with job cost accounting software is a plus
