The Dairy Manager will need to a have a strong, successful dairy management background with both cows and employees. Will include coordinating with the Herd Manager on hiring / firing, training, and scheduling. Will also work with Vet, Nutritionist, Owner, and other department Managers. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others. Dairy Manager must have previous experience managing a dairy operation of 1,500+ milking cows. The manager must have the ability to manage manure systems, detect and solve any issues that may occur on a dairy, have previous breeding, herd health, nutrition, and employee management experience. Will also be responsible for spreadsheets, inventory, purchasing, contracting feed, and some financial responsibilities., At a minimum, the dairy manager must be able to speak Dairy Spanish.
