The Role
As the leading high acuity telemedicine provider in the United States, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team of high performing clinical management professionals as the Director of Clinical Education. As a member of the operations leadership team, the Director – Clinical Education will own and be accountable for defining, delivering and managing all clinical education across the Company’s service lines. Additionally, this team member will work closely with and support the Service Lines Managers to ensure the company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives are met in accordance with the highest ethical standards, policies and procedures, and Hicuity’s guiding principles.
You Will
Own the development of internal training modules for all new clinical hires
Prepare, deliver and facilitate the training of preceptors.
Provide and aide in clinical training support. Should be equally comfortable rendering training and education via telephone, web based and/or on-site.
Facilitate the development and execution of new internal and external educational programs for clinical staff.
Train clinical staff on all software/hardware modifications.
Work with cross functional groups to create, implement, manage, and validate training processes.
Develop and manage training strategies relative to the orientation and development of the employees within the Operations Center
Evaluate preceptor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
Develop testing and evaluation procedures for clinical staff.
Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other related materials for new and ongoing training.
Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs for clinical staff
Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses to attain or maintain CCRN, ACLS, BLS and utilize CEU/CME advancements provided by Hicuity Health, track compliance
Perform 30 day and assist with yearly performance audits.
Produce training materials and manuals as it is related to delivery of services by monitoring center.
Work with client hospitals and CAMs to identify and execute training needs
Function as a consultant, when proctoring or launching programs to ensure optimal use of the products in multiple disciplines.
Facilitate the training of physicians, client hospital ICU staff and ancillary staff on eCareManager
Support service line managers in proactively working with clinical performance issues
Serves as an internal consultant that continually assesses ways to improve quality and efficiency.
Support and help implement workflow changes.
Perform clinical testing of interfaces and new applications as it relates to the training modules.
Support the training needs for technology upgrades
Completes yearly competency requirements for all clinical staff members according to Joint Commission requirements
Participates with formal and informal performance evaluations and provide in the moment feedback to staff on how they are doing.
Directs staff and responds to unanticipated and sudden changes that occur in the operations center
May participate in hiring, termination, evaluation, disciplining employees and maintenance of employee records.
Participate/Lead department meetings as needed
Monitor workflow efficiency and compliance
Perform staff audits as assigned by service line managers
Participate in workgroups and meetings as requested by the service line managers
Provide on shift coverage as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Licensed Registered Nurses, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required
Proven leadership, facilitative and clinical educational skills
Evidence of collaborative practice with physicians
Superb communication skills within and between organizational team throughout all levels of staff
Ability and desire to rapidly learn and excel in a fast pace environment
5 years of inpatient nursing experience
Experience in telemedicine preferred
Experienced with constructing educational material or plan
Flexible full time (40 hours per week) schedule and availability, ability to travel occasionally
Weekend work for training and implementation may be required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS office.
Strong communication, collaboration skills, leadership ability, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and confidentiality
Excellent listening skills
Ability to diffuse tense situations during a shift
Technical competence and ability to quickly learn both workflow/processes and complex user interfaces
