Private Equity Associate (Intern)

This internship will involve a hands-on learning experience with many core activities of running a startup private equity firm. An Associate should expect to develop a fundamental knowledge of how lower-middle market companies are bought and sold. Associates will also gain a working understanding of the industry participants involved in lower-middle market transactions and the motivating factors driving their behavior.
Pay: Unpaid internship (see disclosures below); academic credit may be available
Location: Remote/Hybrid
Cohort Start Quarters: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring
Hours per Week: At least 10 hours per week*
Duration: At least 15 weeks*
Meetings: Able to attend two mandatory team meetings every week (Monday mornings and Friday afternoons)
* Flexible after that to suit the Associate’s schedule
Who Should Apply
Highly motivated candidates who have a strong and proven interest in the fields of private equity, entrepreneurship, marketing, and finance
Candidates who have a natural curiosity about how businesses work, a tenacious attitude toward research, and the ability to think independently
Applicants should be currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate institution or be recent graduates

Interest in learning: Executing investments in small businesses involves learning daily. You must come to this role with a strong desire to learn;
Integrity : Since this is a learning environment, mistakes are perfectly tolerable, but lapses of integrity are not;
Flexibility : It is important to remember that Indus Growth Fund is a start-up private equity firm. This has the advantage of involving each Associate in every part of the transactions. This, at times, has the disadvantage of requiring each Associate to be flexible throughout their employment; and
Confidentiality : The information generated through the work of Indus Growth Fund is the property of its investors. You are expected to keep all proprietary information you access through your work at Indus Growth Fund confidential and confined to the Google Suite account, which you will have access to. This also means not sharing any information in either written or verbal form with your friends, classmates, or family. As part of the initial paperwork, you will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement; and
Availability : You must be able to attend two mandatory team meetings every week (Monday mornings and Friday afternoons).
