**Description**

APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Design and develop firmware for haptics user feedback system on Apple devices. Write quality firmware to support haptics (tactile feedback) to ensure excellent user experience across multiple Apple devices. Work with cross functional teams to ensure that the firmware is written in a way that follows the expectations of the controls experts, testing leads, etc. Document firmware and associated tools clearly to ensure cross-functional HW/FW/SW teams are able to understand both functional specifications and requirements all well as architectural and design intent. Consistently communicate with team peers and management for alignment on work items, due dates, priorities, etc. Write clean, easy to understand, robust, and sustainable code tailored for embedded systems. Negotiate, specify and document communication protocols, system states, and Firmware/Software feature requirements with the Software team and help select microcontrollers. Define power management strategies to ensure minimal current draw, in order to prolong battery life and maximize device operational capacity. Review schematics with the Hardware team to ensure that all devices are connected correctly to facilitate optimal communications efficiency, power draw, PCB size, and BOM cost. International travel required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,328 - $198,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. **Minimum Qualifications**

+ Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
