The Feeds and Verticals team in Microsoft AI is seeking a leader in data science to drive the next generation of growth through intelligence and analytics. Responsibilities Define and communicate a vision for an extensive data scientist effort directly managing data scientists and directly coordinating with many cross teams

Work with partner teams such as Edge, Feeds and Verticals Feature team, and others to deliver coordinated value and services

Establish rigorous engineering processes and data-driven principles to ensure service quality, predictable delivery of new capabilities, analytics, insights, and continuously improving metrics.

Develop a long-term roadmap to ensure key business metrics are continuously tracked and improved, trends are identified and predicted from data to guide the business growth, researches / data mining / experiments are conducted to continuously provide recommendation to the product teams.

Create scalable data solutions and processes to ensure underlying telemetry data are correctly logged and flexible to conduct different types of analysis.

Develop talent and grow your team into a performing healthy data scientist organization.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

OR equivalent experience.

3+ years people-management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years working on Web services and/or mobile app data.

5+ years leading data scientist teams defining key metrics, shipping analytics, reports and deploying models in real world environments.

Experience with large scale data process infrastructure, such as Cosmos/Scope/Spark, and analytics tools.

Experience working on large-scale projects across divisions, ensuring upstream instrumentation/telemetry is in place to gather required business insights, driving complex key business metrics development and analysis to meet agile business needs.

Problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of advanced statistics, data science, machine learning.

Ability to make compelling visualizations using Excel and PowerBI or other data analysis tools such as Tableau, SAS, or R.

Deep machine learning understanding - proven ability to develop machines learning models to improve metrics, predict trends, conduct user segment and cohort analysis.

Experience being the most technical leader on a project, making decisions without higher level validation

A systematic problem solver who quickly ramps up, understand complex problems, and create impact that cross many product teams

Familiarity with Web technologies and Advertising business model is a plus.

Customer obsession to study and understand real world user behavior and intention, being passionate about identifying issues in the products, conducting experiments to provide the best possible experiences to customers.

Presentation skills and executive presence required to present your analysis to the Partner and VP level at the monthly business review and other meetings to ensure that your team’s insights make an impact.

Data Science M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
