Summary

The systems administrator will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in deploying an overall IT strategy. They will be empowered to innovate, be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility. They will receive proper training to help them become a leader in their field.

Key Responsibilities Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative

Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide a commercial advantage in the foundational sector

Enable faster and more innovative business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights

Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking with high degree of reliability

Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements

Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly

Monitor data center health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed

Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments

Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed

Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups

Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes

Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues

Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure

Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved promptly with limited disruptions

Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance

Qualifications / Skills / Requirements Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science or equivalent experience

Five or more years of experience in either systems administration, database administration, or network administration

MS Office Certification needed

Cisco Certification pereferred

Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies; enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching

Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure DevOps)

Expertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systems

Knowledge of Salesforce system administration

Knowledge of Oracle system administration

Knowledge of MuleSoft integration

Working knowledge of: Microsoft O365 system administration

Website applications deployment and management.

Azure cloud environment administration

Virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent

Systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols (level one, two, three)

System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus

Experience with scripting and automation tools

A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans

Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

Working knowledge of website applications deployment and management

Effectively model and demonstrate CFT’s core competencies which include Collaboration, Impact and Problem Solving, Integrity and Accountability, Learning, and Internal and External Service
