The Senior Field Technical Specialist - Cyto for Leica Biosystems is responsible to provide technical service and support on equipment within the company, ISO, FDA, and budgetary guidelines with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities for Leica. The position has a high-impact contribution to the company’s success by providing industry leading service to our customer base.

This position is part of the Field Service organization located in USA and will be fully remote. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Pathology Imaging Specialist Team and report to the Regional Field Service Manager. If you thrive in a fast-paced, challenging role and want to work to build a world-class Field Service organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Provide installation, applications and networking support, maintenance, and repair on assigned Leica Biosystems instruments.

+ Product Specialist and/or Subject Matter Expert on one or more Product Lines handling on-site for escalations

+ Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to comply with ISO, FDA, and Leica policies. Must possess strong time management skills and follow all published processes with limited supervision.

+ Represent the company in a highly professional manner to instill confidence with current and prospective customers of Leica products to achieve high customer satisfaction.

+ Achieve strategic goals and financial targets

The essential requirements of the job include:

+ Associates Degree with Minimum 4 years of experience OR equivalent technical work experience (minimum 7 years). Four-year degree (Bachelor of Science) preferred

+ 10 years’ experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, electronic equipment and scientific instruments

+ Experience mentoring colleagues in working environments

+ Strong time management skills, must work independently, maintain an orderly workflow according to changing priorities, and maintain individual inventory and strong documentation skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

+ Technical experience in the medical devices / lab instruments or related industry.

+ Advanced computer knowledge

+ Experience in a Cytogenomics lab environment

Travel:

+ 70% - 90%

+ Frequent overnight travel, often with short notice. Occasional international travel may be required.

+ Must Possess a valid Driver’s license and meet fleet eligibility requirements

Physical demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, bend, talk and hear.

+ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

+ Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

+ This position will require heavy travel by car and flying in and out of airports with possible long wait times.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
