**Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS)** seeks **Project Engineers** to join the **Precision Engagement Systems (PES)** team located in Saint Charles, Missouri.

As a part of the **Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS)** organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers’ missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include **Direct Attack weapons** ( **JDAM** , **SDB** , **MOP** , **HAAWC** and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.

In this position you will work closely with the program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, engineering, and customers to further the program. This role can encompass Program Integrator positions, which support the product program manager, and International Projects Manager positions which support the International Execution Program Manager. This is a growth role, with the expectation that broad skills and experience gained here will be applicable to other current and future contracts. You will be responsible for providing engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.

**Position Responsibilities:**

+ Work with our internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needs.

+ Track progress of cost, schedule, and technical performance using Boeing Program Management Best Practices ( **PMBP** ) and Earned Value Management ( **EVM** ).

+ Support the development of customer **proposals** ( **RFQ** , **RFP** ), including development of competitive pricing and delivery dates.

+ Engage regularly with **supply chain** leadership to monitor supplier quality and performance.

+ Resolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief Engineer.

+ Manage deliverables by defining plans for **risk mitigation** , issues, and opportunities; and by monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learned.

+ Update customers and leadership on program status, risks, issues, opportunities, and where help is needed.

+ Standardize, develop, and document processes.

+ Provide additional support as needed. This job can encompass a variety of tasks including support for Correction Action Requests (CARs) received by the program, subject matter expertise ( **SME** ); and **lean** process improvements.

+ Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog.

+ Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams.

+ Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy.

+ Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.

+ Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically or internationally depending on business needs.

In order to meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Saint Charles, MO.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

+ 5+ years of experience working in an engineering, engineering technology, or related technical discipline.

+ 5+ years of experience participating in (work or school related) engineering design projects or activities.

+ 5+ years of experience leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects teams.

+ Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**

+ (Higher level 5): 10+ years of related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience.

+ (Higher level 5): 10+ years of experience leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects teams.

+ Project Management Professional Certification ( **PMP** ).

+ Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology.

+ Experience with **proposal** development and contracting negotiations; proposal support experience.

+ In-depth knowledge of agile methodology.

+ Experience with **Export Compliance** or International programs

+ Experience developing and tracking program plans, schedules, and budgets for technical projects.

+ Experience in a production environment.

+ Experience in product development.

+ Experience working with government, Military or DoD customers

+ Defense Industry Experience.

+ Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM).

+ 5+ years of project management experience in an engineering environment.

+ 5+ years of experience in engineering project planning or project management.

+ 5+ years supporting **weapons systems** .

+ 5+ years working directly with **government** customers.

+ 5+ years collaborating across functions and organizations.

+ Understanding of business value related to features and functions.

+ Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.

+ Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

+ Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

**Typical Education/Experience:**

Lead (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:

Lead (Level 4): 114,750 – 155,250

Lead (Level 5): 140,250 – 189,750
