AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Key job responsibilities

• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

• Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

• Lead technical pre-sales conversations with AWS customers. Help them define cloud operating models that leverage AWS services and align to AWS operational and security best practices.

• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, AWS re:Inforce, etc.

• Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

About the team

Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will lead the global GTM plan for AWS Managed Services (AMS). AMS is a service that helps customers to adopt AWS at scale and operate more efficiently and securely, using AWS services. You are a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams around the world and set direction and standards for how we solve customer problems in the CloudOps domain. You partner with technical and business teams across AWS and bring the voice of the customer into our product development roadmap. The WW team sees the big picture and sets the plan so the world’s most customer obsessed technical teams can make history.

Basic Qualifications

- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

- 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

- 2+ years of technical experiences in cloud operations, cloud governance, or managed services.

Preferred Qualifications

- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

- Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise

- Experience working with end user or developer communities

- Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
