Responsibilities
Lead and manage design team to output high quality product design solutions for web and mobile products.
Own the design strategy and execution, build the best in class design practices, methodologies and systems in house.
Build efficient workflows to collaborate with product manager, engineer and marketing teams to maximize design impact.
Mentor designers' day-to-day work, lead by example and help the design team grow in expertise and career.
Build a world-class design team with the founders through deep understanding of the sciences and arts of design, a sharp eye for hiring talents and effective leadership style.
Requirements
2+ years of design team leadership experience in a fast-growing tech startup, experienced in managing efficient output with a lean team and hiring design talents.
Experienced in building collaboration with other teams with effective communication that optimize the team efficiency while maintaining a high bar for design quality.
Experienced in owning design initiatives including product experience, branding or marketing campaigns, hands-on delivering high quality design solutions
Technical understanding of front-end/back-end development with strong logic to lead the discovery of optimal design solutions with balanced pros and cons covering applicable edge cases
Product thinking that takes business and customer goals into consideration, take responsibility for the end user experience
Smooth and efficient team communication and collaboration, can align team quickly with goals and priorities and come up with optimal design solutions to the team's challenges
Good taste and standard of aesthetics, rich experience in visual design, insightful understanding of fundamental design elements like colors, fonts, textures and can compose world-class visual design language fluently
Open-minded, self-driven, strong learner, constantly on the front edge of the industry and brings the latest insights to the team

Have built a high performance design team that shipped impactful products with top tier user experience and branding.
Have led the design of impactful products or brands from 0 to 1, especially visual content creation products.
Strong analytical thinking, great sense of data-driven
Great taste, able to compose and realize touching design that gives audience goose bumps
Great passion for design in a broader sense, constantly expanding design thinking and expertise
Know about psychology or economics and have deep understanding of your markets and target audiences
