About the Role Reed Tech, a LexisNexis Company (a Subsidiary of RELX) has a Senior Software Engineer opening. The Reed Tech Senior Software Engineer, a member of an Agile team, participates in the design, analysis, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance and documentation of complex software systems. The Senior Software Engineer position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions. This position will join a squad that is leading a platform modernization initiative.
Requirements Software Engineering experience
BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
Ability to translate architectural designs into actionable development plans (e.g., API Design, Microservice implementation design).
Expertise in development languages such as: .Net, C#, JavaScript, and SQL/ NoSQL.
Strong experience with Azure Cloud technologies such as: Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure Cognitive Search, Blob/Table Storage, CosmosDB, Azure Data Factory, and Azure API Management.
Strong knowledge in development best practices such as: version control, TDD, CI/CD, Clean Code principles, code review, performance testing, security, observability, telemetry, monitoring, and IaC.
Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Mentor more-junior developers.
Experience with Azure US Gov Cloud preferred.
Responsibilities Interfacing with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
Completing complex bug fixes.
Working closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
Successfully implementing development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Operating in Agile development environments while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolving complex technical issues as necessary.
