Junior Network Administrator

Location/Remote: Hybrid Remote in Washington, D.C. 20005 (i.e., 3 days onsite/week)
Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent / Full-time
Compensation: up to $75k base/year (depending on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Junior Network Administrator to join our growing IT team. You will play a key role in supporting our network infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation and security. You will gain valuable experience working with Cisco routers and switches, implementing core network configurations, and assisting with troubleshooting tasks.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior network administrators with the configuration and management of Cisco routers and switches
Implement and maintain network configurations using Cisco IOS/CLI, focusing on routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and switching technologies (VLANs)
Participate in network troubleshooting activities using Cisco IOS/CLI commands and network analysis tools like Wireshark
Understand the principles of access control lists (ACLs) and be familiar with firewall, IDS/IPS concepts
Work with change control processes to ensure proper documentation and approval for network modifications
Assist with the implementation of network patches to maintain system security and stability
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a network support/analyst, or similar role
An active CCNA certification is required
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model, IP addressing, subnetting)
Familiarity with routing protocols and switching technologies
Proven experience managing Cisco routers and switches using Cisco IOS/CLI
Basic understanding of network troubleshooting methodologies and tools (Wireshark)
Working knowledge of access control lists (ACLs) and basic security concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
