Electrical Distribution Designer

Job Description Job Description Anchor Talent has partnered with a Texas based engineering firm to a Mid Level - Senior Level Electric Distribution Designer in multiple cities across Texas. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team that focuses on detailed design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems. You will perform field survey, prepare design sketches, provide technical specifications for design estimates. The ideal candidate will have an analytical competence to interact with a variety of individuals; engineers, experienced distribution system designers and project managers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the design, construction orders related to overhead, underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems applying prescribed standards, guides, specifications and procedures
Interpret survey data, plan, deed information, and engineered construction drawings
Prepare field notes, construction drawings, details, and estimates as defined by the scope of work
Communicate with customers, contractors, developers, and engineering consultants about project needs, costs, and requirements
Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials and any other required documents and reports for construction and maintenance projects.
Partner with pre-development and Pre-construction teams to obtain and provide necessary information and findings
Sole liaison between construction and development teams and landowners regarding site development and easements
Prepare presentations and exhibits to include project requirements and descriptions, survey measurements, and share data via notes, drawings, sketches and plats
Reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications to support the preparation of project deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
Utilize client and company information systems to track and update design activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Associates or Bachelors degree in a field related to electric or utility distribution
Minimum of 2 years of direct experience
Ability to draft, edit and understand GIS mapping
Basic knowledge of property rights, easements, land acquisition, and construction
Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, project costing and resource allocation
Valid drivers license
Knowledge of NESC specifications, OSHA codes, Joint Use Agreements, Rates and language, and National Electric Code
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
