Network Engineer

We offer benefits, including 401K, sick leave, and medical insurance, and provide direct payroll deposits via Paychex. We are hiring a Network Engineer for our Government client in Livermore, CA. Hybrid/onsite 3-4 days per week. Contract opportunity, with possible Contract to hire. Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship. Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of technical training and related experience. Experience in network system design, configuration, implementation, documentation, and operations. Knowledge of and experience with network routing and switching, including OSPF, IS-IS, or BGP, and Spanning-tree. Familiarity with common network automation frameworks such as Ansible and Python. Broad and in-depth knowledge of and experience in firewall configuration and maintenance, particularly Palo Alto NGFW. Comprehensive working knowledge of edge port security features, such as 802.1x. Experience with Load Balancer concepts and operations. Proficient interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to work independently and interact with customers and team members. Additional Qualifications at the SES.2 Level Experience developing advanced architecture solutions. Advanced troubleshooting skills and experience solving problems by analyzing protocol interactions collected in packet traces. Experience training and mentoring team members in network engineering and architecture. Qualifications We Desire Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional Certifications (CCNP), or comparable industry certification from another vendor. Experience with network overlay technologies such as GRE, IPSec, MPLS, and VXLAN. F5, NetScaler or other load balancers and features.
