Overview:

The Senior Software Engineer plays a primary role in designing,architecting and developing the organization’s custom softwareapplications to enhance our services. They must be experienced workingacross the entire software development lifecycle: Discovery ->Requirements -> Design -> Data Modeling -> Development ->Deployment -> Maintenance. Ideal candidates will confidently makekey architectural decisions on complex projects. They will haveexcellent communications skills and an ability to quickly understandbusiness processes. The Senior Software Engineer will lead the entireteam and be willing to mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-qualityproducts using Agile.

* Develop maintainable code adhering to industry best practices.

* Test new features to ensure smooth execution without disruption.

* Lead software development efforts across the entire softwaredevelopment lifecycle.

* Optimize applications’ performance ensuring responsiveness,efficient code execution, reliability, and scalability.

* Secure applications by implementing industry best practices toprotect member data.

* Learn continuously to stay current with the latest trends and technologies.

* Mentor and supervise junior team members.

* Perform other duties when assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer andviewing screens.

Experience and Skills: Qualifications:

* 8+ years of software development experience designing and buildingweb applications and headless server applications.

* Experience with agile methodologies and software development tools,e.g., source control systems, compilers, and debuggers.

* Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development,including RESTful APIs, databases, and user interfaces.

* 5+ years programming web applications (Ruby on Rails and/orAngular preferred) .

* 5+ years of database modeling with relational databases (MySQLand/or Postgres preferred).

* 5+ years of cloud administration experience (AWS preferred).

* Eagerness to learn new languages and development frameworks.

* Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

* Passion for solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
