In this role, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing project documents and accurately estimating costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. What We Ask of You:
Provide detailed quantity of labor and material takeoff for all systems.
Review and assess estimating documents to ensure successful low-bid outcomes.
Identify and report on risks, opportunities, and scope.
Obtain competitive quotations and compare them on a like-for-like basis.
Collaborate as a key member of the estimating team.
Attend pre-bid meetings and review bid documents with the Chief Estimator.
Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
Participate in the hand-off of successful projects, including a key role in our Job Kick-Off Meetings.
Experience & Competencies:
Bachelor of Science in a related discipline is highly desirable.
Minimum of 3 or more years estimating HVAC and/or plumbing projects, or field equivalent experience.
Proficiency in computer software programs, particularly Auto Bid Mechanical Estimating Software.
Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
Ability to communicate professionally in deadline-driven environments.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete tasks.
Strong work ethic, with organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
