A large retailer's non-profit charity that provides emergency financial assistance to associates facing unforeseen circumstances is in need of a Grant Specialist.
The Grant Specialist manages the day-to-day responsibilities of the grant process for incoming hardship requests with empathy, respect, and a sense of urgency. The Grant Specialist also acts as team lead on multiple projects, both inter-departmental and with external partners. The Grant Specialist is responsible for influencing and maintaining quality assurance within the charity.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
75% Grant Management:
Review hardship grants submitted by associates in crisis, analyzing submitted information to determine eligibility and the best ways to assist.
Create payments for grant recipients, ensuring financial reporting reflects accurate data.
Identify and resolve issues of fraud, and work with the Manager to develop ways to minimize instances of fraud.
20% Project Management:
Lead all phases of a project's life cycle, including defining the business need, establishing criteria and business requirements, understanding the impact on the business, and designing and rolling out the project.
Participate in or act as team lead on projects related to fundraising, natural disaster response, scholarships, benevolence opportunities, etc.
Partner with the Communications Manager to develop content for storytelling, associate engagement, and education.
5% Other Duties as Needed:
Serve as a subject matter expert to other business partners.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $ 18.00-19.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
