Project Delivery Coordinator

The NYC Department of Transportation has over 5,500 employees who oversee one of the most complex urban transportation networks in the world. NYC DOT's staff manage an annual operating budget of $1.4 billion and a ten-year $26 billion capital program, along with 6,300 miles of streets and highways, over 12,000 miles of sidewalk, and approximately 800 bridges and tunnels, including the iconic East River bridges. The Division of Budget and Capital Program Management is seeking an independent self-starter who in the title of Project Delivery Coordinator will work collaboratively across all the agency's capital program areas and with other partners outside the agency to keep our ambitious capital program on track. With the input of multiple groups and consideration of many factors, the Project Delivery Coordinator will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, identify, and anticipate project delays, and develop action plans to keep projects on schedule. Coordinate and liaise with major capital divisions at DOT sister agencies across the city, such as the Department of Design and Construction (DDC) and Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). Collaborate with DOT staff from Budget, Grants, and the Agency Chief Contracting Officer's (ACCO) procurement team. Work closely with the Capital Budget Unit to provide technical assistance in setting annual capital commitment funding targets.

The Project Delivery Coordinator's responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Using Microsoft Project Web Access (PWA) to supervise, monitor, and maintain project schedules for capital-funded, community development infrastructure projects which include Capital programs such as the Great Streets Vision Zero program (e.g. Queens Boulevard, 4th Avenue), South Bronx SBS, and the buildout of Open Streets and other projects to enhance the City's "public realm," improving the lives of all New Yorkers; project milestone tracking and reporting to inform internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials and the communities involved; review, integrate and analyze Financial Management System (FMS) funding/budget data with project schedules; brief senior leadership on progress and performance of DOT capital programs and projects; work with Mayor's Office of Operations to update City's Capital Project Dashboard; leading internal and external meetings to review project planning schedules; and prepare necessary documents and analysis for meetings to inform the public of project statues and schedules (i.e. construction completion).

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred Skills

Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy. Excel in fast-paced environment Ability to manage large and diverse portfolio of community-facing infrastructure projects. Excellent communication skills.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
