Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for capacity planning in the (development, test, staging & production) environments in support of a number of critical applications for both SQL and Oracle databases.
The role needs to ensure database availability, data integrity for multiple database instances across both platforms.
DBA will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting database systems and services. Manage and maintain SQL and Oracle relational databases.
Install, configure and upgrade both SQL and Oracle products, including but not limited to Oracle Enterprise Manager, RAC, bigdata Appliance with the management of structural/unstructured data, ASM Storage, Oracle Data Integration, DataGuard, and GoldenGate.
Must have experience working with Oracle Cloud, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud
Strong Oracle RAC, Flashback, RMAN, ASM, DataGuard and GoldenGate background
Tuning the database for optimal performance in large scaled environment
Oracle Database 18c/19c experience will be preferred
dvanced Oracle DBA experience with Oracle 12c+ on Unix/Linux/Solaris platforms
Oracle Containers and Pluggable DB
Performing Upgrades and Patching Databases to 18c/19c
Oracle Database Security Hardening
Responsibilities: Plan for complex database functional capabilities including: database vendor, product, and version; storage; hardware; structure; performance; security; availability; and disaster recovery
Optimizes and tunes database performance utilizing advanced monitoring tools, query tuning techniques, database and operating system parameter adjustments, hardware recommendations, and other operational enhancements
Experience with data management tools and applications
Experience with Oracle SQL Loader, JDBC, and Linux shell scripting is a plus
Maintain the integrity, security, performance and availability of databases
Manage a replicated architecture which provides tuning and monitoring of database security
Perform backup and recovery of databases, index maintenance, performance tuning and monitoring of databases
Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company standards
Demonstrate ability to analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to team, management, and external customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity
Provide recommendations and strategies to application owners on how to improve performance and scalability of their database components
Experience implementing and managing Windows clustering and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)
Expert skill level executing Oracle and SQL Server high-availability technologies (replication, mirroring, failover clusters, etc.)
Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology, and a minimum of 10 years of related experience
Industry certification in MS SQL, Oracle SQL, or other relevant database administration achievements strongly preferred
Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
