Description:Medical Technologist (MT) (Also referred to as: Medical Lab Technologist (MLT), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), and/or Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS))+ Prepare patient samples for testing and determine acceptability of specimens and results. Repeat specimen testing as necessary to ensure accuracy.+ Perform Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis testing.+ Perform laboratory tests and procedures using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, flow cytometry, and more.+ Perform a variety of manual, semi-automated and automated Biochemical, Hematological, Microbiological and/or Blood Bank analysis on varied patient specimens, maintaining a high degree of accuracy, reliability and productivity.+ Maintain, calibrate, operate, & troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.+ Accurately prepare, label and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens for analysis.+ Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.+ Participates in quality assurance & quality improvement activities.+ Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.+ Recognizes normal, abnormal, unusual and critical results and takes appropriate action as established by laboratory policy.+ Verify accuracy of results and initiate corrective action when indicated.Additional Skills & Qualifications:+ Bachelors’ degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science.+ Certified Medical Technologist (MT) -OR- Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) -OR- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) (Certification must be from one of the following: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Labs (NCA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT)).+ 2+ years of experience working in a hospital or clinical/diagnostic laboratory.+ Blood Bank experience is highly preferred.+ Ability to operate and maintain laboratory instruments.+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.+ Proficient with computers - familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.+ High level of attention detail.+ Strong communication and organizational skills.+ Coachable and ability to take and initiate feedback well.+ Proven history of reliability and positive attendance.Experience Level:Intermediate Level • Strong team environment/culture • Global company - easy to relocate if need be • Lots of opportunity for growth/movement into different departments (lab, sales, client services, etc.) is a leading healthcare diagnostics company that offers a wide range of tests and services to patients and doctors.
