Responsible for communicating company policies in a consistent manner with a key focus on incident prevention and loss abatement.
Conduct on-site risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Determine status of DOT & EHS accidents and ensure all incidents are appropriately reported.
Ensure ABM compliance to USDOT/FMCSA, OSHA & state authorities, and company policies.
Ensure the proper branding of company vehicles with USDOT/FMCSA identifications.
Maintain a driver qualification program (DQ files) to ensure that drivers fully comply with all regulations, including Drug/Alcohol Program. Conduct annual & periodic review of all driver files/DQ files to include but not limited to MVR, annual review, accident review, camera events (i.e.: Lytx), periodic reviews and all other required Driver qualifications to USDOT/FMCSA, & ABM standards.
Maintain all JJ Keller files and ensure 100% compliance within a timely manner as well as addressing any alerts of pending or found files having corrective action items.
Ensure timely notification to HR, Site Manager & ABM DOT Director of any/all positive D/A tests.
Train, educate, monitor, and manage driver safety performance and compliance.
Conducts/leads all new hire driver & support staff training as well as updates DOT/EHS programs.
Conducts all road tests of DOT & non-DOT drivers.
Ensure maintenance records and reports for DOT, OSHA and Compliance are current.
Guide and coordinate with site maintenance bus & other assigned vehicle compliance.
Analyze vehicle accidents data, to include in cab cameras i.e.: Lytx. Assign/coach each event within 10 days to ABM established/approved policy as set forth by ABM DOT Risk & Safety Director and HR.
Lead regularly scheduled safety meetings to determine the effectiveness of safety and accident prevention activities, and to ensure compliance with all applicable safety directives.
Responsible for the DOT & occupational health, safety, and loss control management of the site.
Responsible for providing health and safety support of the company's policies to include accident, workmans compensation and required EHS reports i.e.: COVID-19 compliance/internal reporting.
Responsible for evaluating, training, and complying to safety & health initiatives that will ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free environment.
Will report directly to the Site Account Manager for day-to-day activities and report dotted line into the Regional EHS Manager. DOT duties specifically related to USDOT/FMCSA Compliance i.e.: D&A, DQ file, updates and reporting will continue to be reported dotted line into the ABM DOT Risk & Safety Director.
Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Business, Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety or EH&S related degree is required. Proficiency in Microsoft, PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Proficient knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 and CFR 1926 regulations. EHS & DOT experience is required. Must have a minimum of five years safety experience. Skilled in communicating ideas and instructions clearly. Strong organization skills.
