Goshen Therapeutic Services , a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is a community-based social service organization that provides services for families involved with DFCS as well as in the community. We are currently seeking Fully Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor.
Responsibilities expected for Fully Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor :
Upon receiving a referral, make collateral calls to referring agency and review all documentation and notes pertaining to the family or individual's history, diagnosis, and case plan.
Provide individual counseling.
Document clients progress through counseling and interaction through groups and GVBR intensive outpatient program.
Complete client biopsychosocial or substance use assessment and an individualized treatment plan within the required time frame.
Identify any clinical/case management needs and work to address those needs.
Perform individual, group, and family counseling.
Educate clients in all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery
Review urine drug screens
Work in partnership with DFCS case managers to help individuals and families achieve their potential.
Attend court hearings or case panel hearings to testify as requested by attorneys and DFCS.
Track units of service and dates of service outlined on the service authorization.
Document all services in Electronic Health records.
Attend monthly meetings, as required, for training, to receive updates regarding policies and procedures and staff cases.
Maintain compliance with required DFCS training.
Additionally, we are looking for someone who shows:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Goal oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective priority, and time management
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus as we serve many in this demographic bracket.

Requirements
Fully Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor will be expected to have: Master's degree in community counseling or related field. (Social Work, Community Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy).
Full license required with Georgia's Secretary of State: LPC, LCSW, LMFT (Associate licensed and license eligible considered for the right candidate.)
CAC-I and CAC-II preferred
Must have experience completing the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment.
Familiarity with the Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Program (DATEP) and it's regulations.
Must demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills to provide assessment and clinical services.
Must practice by the ethical standards of the professional association and state licensing board.
Must submit a valid and official transcript showing proof of degree awarded.
Valid Driver's License with good driving record and proof of insurance meeting required 100/300/100 liability coverage, and be insurable by GVF's auto insurance carrier.
Be of good character, and supportive of the programs, policies, and ideals of Goshen Valley Foundation.
Complete and pass a criminal background check (DHS OIG) and other safety screenings and drug screen.
Must have access to a computer and telephone to contact clients and document services provided.
Job Type : Contract status, Part-Time up to Full-Time depending on contractors preferred schedule worked. This position may be eligible for a Sign-on bonus.
