SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Nursing is a key member of the leadership team at the health center. They work closely with the Director of Nursing to plan and implement activities related to nursing along with managing nurses who oversee specialty programs at DotHouse Health. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing .
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as an educator/leader/role model and leads by example in fostering a collaborative environment.
Demonstrates clinical leadership and serves as a resource to staff.
Directly manages nurses who oversee specialty programs at DotHouse and provides support, guidance, and oversight.
Assists in survey compliance and quality assurance.
Assists in the creation and implementation of quality improvement projects within all units.
Leads the development, creation, and implementation of Nursing Education initiatives and competencies.
Works with Director of Nursing to ensure required maintenance of nursing and medical assistant competencies.
Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of nursing policies and procedures.
Provides clinical expertise in medical management, crisis, and behavior management techniques.
Serves on and/or leads committees, as assigned.
Mentors Nursing Managers in the supervision of nursing and medical assistants in the absence of the DON.
Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure all regulatory, licensure and accreditation standards related to nursing are met and assists in communication of changes to nursing and medical assistant staff.
Completes employee performance reviews in a timely manner, and in accordance with DotHouse Health Policy.
Provides ongoing assessment and feedback to all employees; develops performance improvement plans where appropriate.
Works in conjunction with the DON on hiring, disciplining, and terminating nursing staff within the prescribed policies of DotHouse Health.
Interprets and enforces DotHouse Health policies for all employees.
Oversees payroll and maintains system to document employee absenteeism.
Provides clinical nursing services as assigned.
Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in healthcare required.
Certification/Licensure:
Current RN License, BLS Certification
Software/Hardware:
Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
PREFERRED:
Education:
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience : Management experience preferred.
