Job Title: Safety Engineer
Job Description
Located in Greensburg, IN- We are looking for an intermediate level safety engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will apply their scientific and practical knowledge to improve systems, processes, equipment, and tools in order to promote safety excellence. You will be responsible for providing Safety Compliance support, cycling P-D-C-A safety compliance programs, leveraging safety expertise, interpreting and applying safety management policies and procedures, and performing complex safety compliance activities. A typical work day includes attending meetings, providing safety expertise, developing safety programs, advising, and facilitating audits.
Must Haves:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or other ABET-certified safety and health program or equivalent related experience
+ 5+ years of safety experience or equivalent Honda manufacturing experience based on education
+ Achievement of professional certification such as Advanced Safety Certificate, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician, Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist.
+ Detailed understanding of major health and safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI)

This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Greensburg, Indiana.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in an office environment (85%), but will also need to attend to processes and issues on the manufacturing floor (15%). The position may require 5-10 business trips per year to support regional initiatives and improve standardization across the region. This activity may require short-term assignments at other sites for 1-to-2-week periods. Average 2-10 hours of overtime per week is expected. Weekend and holiday work may be required, as well as ad hoc travel to other plants.
