Engineer III / Field Controls Engineer

Elliott Company’s Houston, TX, office seeks an Engineer III/Field Controls Engineer to apply specialized technical knowledge and broad experience in the testing, installation, and commissioning of engineered control systems for compressors and steam turbines at user sites worldwide. When not traveling in support of new installations, will provide technical support to control system users and supplement staff to meet new control system delivery schedules.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus three (3) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting complex engineered control systems; (ii) project management, including scheduling, task estimating and resource allocation; (iii) programming and troubleshooting various manufacturers and models of PLC controllers; (iv) HMI software programming and troubleshooting; (v) programming and commissioning turbine governor and overspeed controllers; (vi) programming and commissioning of Bently Nevada machinery protection systems; (vii) installing and troubleshooting of electrical control circuits; (viii) preparing test procedures; and (ix) ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering a safe environment.
Must also be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally to various unanticipated employer and client locations to provide technical support up to 50%.
