The Service Director oversees and manages our maintenance and repair operation of over 500 vehicles in 5 locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, a proven track record of leadership and a passion for ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.
Responsibilities include: developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs for the vehicle fleet; scheduling and overseeing regular maintenance, inspections and repairs and maintaining accurate records of such; managing the procurement and inventory of parts and equipment; leading/mentoring/motivating a team of skilled location managers, mechanics and support staff; conducting performance reviews and providing training to staff while fostering a collaborative work environment; ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations related to fleet vehicles; implementing safety protocols and assist conducting safety training along with the Safety Director; developing and managing the annual budget along with the Controller for the maintenance department; monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and generating reports on fleet performance, maintenance cost, and mechanic productivity.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent ; minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in multiple locations, preferably in the transportation industry; strong leadership and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft office and a valid driver's license is required.
