Sr. Drilling Product Development Engineer

CNPC USA is a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Company, and serves as the North American headquarters. Our goal is to provide innovation, research and development of new technologies for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production.
Responsibilities:
· Development drilling products from
design, manufacturing, qualification to field testing
· Collaborate
with mechanical engineers for development and optimization of designs.
· Interface
with vendors and suppliers for manufacturing efficiency and optimization.
· Participate
in assembly, testing, and qualification of engineering prototypes.
· Use
SolidWorks to create/maintain engineering project design layouts and production
drawings per ASME and ISO standards.
· Create
and maintain engineering standards/documents to include material specs, QC
specs, and operating procedures.
Handle
special projects as assigned.
· Conduct
all business activities in agreement with CNPC USA core values.
Key Skills:
· Proven
ability to deliver on time, on target, with quality and sustainability.
· Good interpersonal skills and communication.
· Extensive
experience with down-hole drilling product development.
· Strong
understanding of mechanical design and engineering as it applies to downhole
tool design.
· Demonstrated
expertise in 2D & 3D CAD modeling and CFD.
· Design
for manufacturability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical
Engineering or related field; with ten years of related experience preferably
in hydraulically activated and operated down-hole drilling tool development
Legally
authorized to work in the United States of America
Work
Environment:
This job operates
in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office
equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax
machines.

the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb or
balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift

color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel:
This position may
require international and domestic travel. Travel between all CNPC USA
locations and testing facilities is required.

Responsibility:
This position has
no direct supervisory responsibilities.
