Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and construction of both vertical (buildings) and horizontal (bridges, roads, and infrastructure) projects, ensuring they are safe, functional, and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of structural projects, including both vertical and horizontal structures.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Participate in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
- Perform structural calculations and simulations using advanced engineering software.
Qualifications - Registered PE
- 10+ years required / 15+ preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or related field required / Master's in Structural preferred
- Experience with WMATA preferred
- Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering successful projects.
