We are seeking a talented Instructional Designer to join GP Strategies in support of our Microsoft client account. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, with a passion for designing engaging and effective learning solutions across a variety of learning platforms and modalities including eLearning, instructor-led, group/social, applied learning, coaching/mentoring, video/podcast, and document-based learning experiences. They will have proven success applying adult learning best practices, and a strong curiosity for emerging learning techniques and technologies including AI and gamification. The candidate must thrive in dynamic, collaborative, and agile team environments and have strategies for soliciting quality content and feedback with subject matter experts within both iterative and formal (ADDIE) development cycles. Our ID roles require strong emotional intelligence, listening and communication skills, and a proven ability to influence and contribute while being responsive to direction from our Microsoft customers. Our IDs are expected to be proactive self-starters who are very comfortable with ambiguity and can independently drive the instructional design process and make progress and solve problems without being directed, assigned, or micromanaged. Our ideal candidate will have experience developing scenario-based trainings in sales enablement (solution sales), professional skills, and technical/technology content areas. Passion for technology and experience designing trainings for sales, technical sales, and engineering roles in big tech organizations like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc. is a big plus. Fluency with eLearning rapid development platforms like Articulate RISE is required as is the ability and desire to train oneself quickly on new platforms and processes not currently mastered. Basic familiarity with Articulate Storyline and/or Captivate functionality, and successful experience collaborating with, storyboarding for, and handing off to, media developers to complete custom online trainings is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Content Development:

• Develop and design high-quality instructional materials, including e-learning courses, training manuals, job aids, and multimedia content.

• Develop realistic and challenging sales scenarios that mirror the complexities of the tech sales landscape.

• Utilize strong writing skills to create compelling content and scenarios, making use of creative writing, narrative, storytelling techniques

• Design creative and effective online trainings with Articulate RISE & Storyline, Captivate, PowerPoint, MOOC, video, and Teams platforms

• Apply adult learning and instructional design strategies to enhance learner engagement and retention

• Technology and Creativity

• Recommend, experiment with, and utilize cutting-edge instructional design tools and technologies to create interactive and dynamic learning experiences, including AI content development and L&D tools.

• Stay current on industry trends and incorporate innovative approaches to enhance training effectiveness.

• Present, share, and participate in ID communities of practice.

• Collaboration and stakeholder management

• Work strategically with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and validate content, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

• Successfully manage stakeholder feedback to refine and enhance training materials.

• Continuously analyze and improve instructional materials based on feedback and performance data.

• Proactively communicate project timelines and progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.

• Proven experience in instructional design, preferably in a tech or sales-focused environment.

• Scenario development and creative/narrative writing skills.

• Strong strategic collaboration skills in working with SMEs for content creation, training adaptation, and validation.

• Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and multimedia software.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

7 - 15 years of experience in Instructional Design.

Intermediate to expert level experience with Articulate 360, Camtasia, and other authoring tools.

L&D specific experience/background is highly desired

Experience working in large technology companies is highly desired.

Ability to comfortably navigate matrixed corporate organizations and complex stakeholder environments.

Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with basic sales skills and knowledge of the sales profession is a plus.

Proactive approach to leading meetings, providing clear objectives, and sending comprehensive meeting notes and status updates.
